Directions

For Use: Puppy Training: Unfold and place your Sergeant's doggie training pad on the floor with the adhesive strip side down and the white side up. Keep the pad in an areas where your puppy stays, but away from its bed and food. Place your puppy on the pad so it can smell the pad's special scent. Keep the pad on the floor continuously so the puppy will know where to go. The scent will attract your puppy to come back to the pad to relieve itself. If your puppy relieves itself elsewhere, bring it back to the pad as soon as possible. Once training is completed, if you would like to train your puppy to relieve himself outdoors, gradually move the pad closer to the door and eventually outside. Once your puppy is used to using the pad outside, gradually make the pad elimination area smaller by folding the pad in half and then in quarters. Soon your pet will eliminate off of the pad and onto the desired surface outdoors. Indoor or Confined Dogs: Follow the same directions for indoor or confined dogs as you do for puppies. Please review directions listed above. Ill Pets: Place the pad adhesive side down with your pet on the pad. This will help protect against stains and odors caused by vomiting, bleeding or incontinence. Quick Tips for Housebreaking Your Puppy: Confine your puppy to a small area such as a crate or kennel. Allow plenty of space outside the confined area for playing, eating and elimination. Cover the area where you want your dog to eliminate with Sergeant's Doggie Training Pads. Plan potty times with your puppy. Pay attention to your puppy and signs it makes when it's ready to go outside. Signs include sniffing the floor, circling, and starting to squat. Control your pet's water and food intake. Remove all traces of odors after an accident. Reward your puppy's successes. Be patient - The process will take several weeks. But consistency, praise, and patience will help you and your puppy.
