McCormick Culinary Anise Seed infuses recipes with a distinct licorice flavor. While it's often used for baking sweet treats, anise excels in many savory dishes as well. Create Italian and Indian-inspired recipes or experiment and create new ones from scratch. Your options are truly endless when you have whole anise seed on hand in your professional kitchen.
Our anise seeds are grown and harvested by experienced farmers to achieve an exceptionally minty, piney and fruity flavor profile. Since anise seeds have a licorice flavor, chefs can use these seeds as a substitution for fennel in dishes. While anise seeds are more potent in flavor than fennel, they still give foods a unique flavor profile.
Created explicitly for chefs, McCormick Culinary Whole Anise Seeds will benefit your entire menu. This 18-ounce container comes ready to use out of the bottle without additional preparation. Each clear plastic container also features two labels with large print to quickly identify the spices inside. Create delicious dishes more efficiently and keep customers coming back for more.
While anise seeds have a distinct flavor, they blend well with various spices. Blend your anise seeds with fennel seeds, cinnamon sticks, peppercorns and whole cloves to make a five-spice seasoning for a stir-fry or dry rub for chicken and pork.
Use these anise seeds to transform dishes like fish curry flavored with a spice blend of paprika, cumin, coriander, cayenne pepper, turmeric and ginger or roasted acorn squash soup with anise seeds and topped with cayenne pepper, chives and sour cream or yogurt. Need to prepare a dessert? Mix some into fruit fillings or sugar cookies decorated with edible additions of your choice, such as green sanding sugar or gold stars.
McCormick Culinary Whole Anise Seeds are kosher and made without added MSG for a distinct taste you can feel good about serving.
