Details

Ceretto Barolo Bricco Rocche Red Wine is known as Bricco Rocche located just outside of Castiglione Falletto, wedged between the vineyards of Villero and Rocche di Castiglione at an altitude of 350-370 meters. Meaning ‘peak of the rock,’ Bricco Rocche has been an exclusive monopoly owned by the Ceretto family since the early 1970s. The inimitable vineyard site has a southeast-to-southwest exposure and is located in the exact center of the DOCG Barolo. Vines are grown organically and the soil comprises of Diano sandstone, silt and clay which are collectively known for producing wines of great balance. Fermented with native yeasts, Ceretto’s Barolo goes through soft punch-downs and pump-overs during its traditional cap-fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Alcoholic fermentation is followed by a 20-25 days maceration and malolactic fermentation is performed in wood barrels immediately following harvest. Upon completion of ML, the wine is then aged for three years: the first in neutral 300L barrels and the remaining two years in large 50HL oak casks. In addition to barrel aging, the wine is also always aged for a minimum of one additional year in bottle before release. “In its complexity, Bricco Rocche represents the qualitative synthesis of all the great Barolos. This is where its greatness lies.” - Marcello Ceretto, Founder
