Transforms everyday clothing into sun-protective gear. Not intended to be used as a spray solution on items such as hats, umbrellas and awnings.
Add SunGuard to the wash cycle and boost the UPF protection of clothes from UPF 5 to UPF 30 with just one washing. One application lasts through 20 washings but SunGuard can be added to every wash and will not change the look and feel of clothing.
SunGuard puts an invisible shield into clothing that helps block more than 96% of the sun's harmful rays from reaching your skin! SunGuard provides a UPF of 30 (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) which is a measurement of a fabric's capability to prevent harmful UV rays from reaching your skin. It is similar to SPF rating for sunscreen.
Ingredients
Active: Ciba Tinosorb FD. Contains: Sodium Chloride and Nonionic Surfactants.
Directions
SunGuard is safe for all washable fabrics including cotton, linen, rayon and silk. SunGuard will not add sun protection to polyester or acrylic fabrics.
For Small, Medium or Large Loads in the Washer: Use 1 package of SunGuard and add the same amount of detergent you normally use. For Extra Large Loads in the Washer: Use 2 packages of SunGuard and add the same amount of detergent you normally use. For Sink Washing: Use 1/2 package of SunGuard and add the same amount of detergent you normally use.
Select water level suitable to load size. Choose hottest water and wash cycle appropriate for fabric. Add SunGuard as washer is filling, pouring just above the water level. Add clothes, avoid crowding. Set wash cycle for at least 15 minutes. Rinse and dry as usual. Water temperature should be 100F or higher. Do not use bleach when applying SunGuard. Future laundering with bleach will not affect the UV protective quality.
Warnings
Eye and skin irritant. Harmful if swallowed. In case of eye or skin contact, rinse thoroughly with water. If swallowed, do not induce vomiting. Slowly drink a glassful of water or milk. Call a physician. Keep out of reach of children.
