Sometimes the simplest foods are the most enjoyable. It doesn’t get much less complex than Fiorucci Sopressata. Sopressata is a unique salami with a coarser grind than the traditional variety and a distinct texture and shape. You will often see a flattened version as a result of pressing during the drying process. It has a hot peppery taste and pairs well with intense, highly acidic wines. Sopressata has a rosy, pink hue with specks of sweet white fat. It has a delicate and tangy flavor with peppery and garlicky notes. While it is absolutely delicious enough to enjoy on its own, it is a must for tapas and antipasti platters and is also outstanding on a thick, deli-style sandwich.
