cooking directions - each bag makes about 2 servings, 1 cup cooked each. Range top - 1. Pour about 1 quart water into a medium saucepan and submerge one bag of weis quality boil-in-bag brown rice. chicken florentine - 1 bag weis quality boil-in-bag rice, 1 package (10 oz.) frozen, chopped spinach*, thawed, drained, 1/2 tsp. Onion powder, 2 tbsp. Margarine, 3 tbsp. Flour, 1/2 tsp. Salt, 1/4 tsp. Pepper, 1 1/2 cups milk, 1/2 cup half & half, 2 cups cubed cooked chicken, 1/2 cup fresh grated parmesan cheese, divided. Preheat oven to 350°f. Prepare rice according to package directions. Combine spinach and onion powder. Add cooked rice. Turn into buttered 2-quart casserole dish. In a saucepan, melt margarine; Blend in flour, salt and pepper. Gradually add milk and half & half. Cook until smooth. Add chicken, half of the cheese and cook until cheese melts. Spoon over spinach mixture. Sprinkle with remaining cheese. Bake for 10 minutes. *1 (10 oz.) package of broccoli may be substituted, for spinach, if desired. Makes 4 servings
spicy sausage & cheese rice - 2 bags weis quality boil-in-bag rice, 1 pound bulk sausage (chicken, beef or pork), 1 onion, chopped, 1 can (10 oz.) tomatoes with green chiles, 1 tbsp. Chili powder, 2 cups shredded monterey jack cheese. Prepare rice according to package directions. Set aside. In a skillet, cook and crumble sausage. Add onion; Cook until tender, drain. Stir in tomatoes with green chiles and chili powder. Add rice and stir in cheese. Makes 8 servings.
