Directions: Boil chicken, (Fryer or hen) covered with water in large stew pot until very tender. Remove from pot and remove bones. If you don't have enough broth for cooking pastry strips, add water and bring to a rapid boil. Salt and pepper to taste. (You may substitute Atkinson's Chicken Base in place of meat broth. Use 2-3 heaping tablespoons of Base for every 4 quarts of water.) Drop frozen pastry strips quickly into boiling broth, until desired amount for your meal. Add cooked chicken back to your pot of pastry. Boil covered for 2 to 5 minutes, then let sit for 5 to 10 minutes before serving. For Large Users: This pastry is designed to cook tender, as if it was rolled out on your kitchen table, and doesn't need to cook very long. It only takes about five minutes to cook after you drop pastry into boil-ing broth. Therefore we suggest you use two small pots rather than one big pot, to keep the first pastry you drop from over cooking and coming apart before you finish dropping the last. Option: No. 1 you may also take the chicken and make chicken salad instead of putting it in the pastry. Chop chicken with food chopper or cut up with scissors. Add 3 chopped boiled eggs, 1/2 cup chopped celery, 1/2 cup sweet pickle relish and 1 cup mayonnaise or salad dressing. Mix all together, add more mayonnaise if not enough moisture. Serve with pastry for a complete meal. Option: No. 2 You may substitute pork, beef, turkey, or any other meat for chicken.
