Directions
You Will Need: 2 cups boiling water, 3/4 cup 2% milk, 2 tablespoons margarine or butter. Oven: Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Mix potatoes, sauce mix, 2 cups boiling water and 2 tablespoons margarine (or butter) in 1-1/2-quart ungreased casserole dish. Stir in 3/4 cup 2% milk. Bake uncovered for 30 to 35 minutes or until potatoes are tender. Microwave: Mix sauce and 3/4 cup 2% milk in 2-quart round microwaveable casserole. Stir in potatoes, 2-1/3 cups hot water and 2 tablespoons margarine or butter. Microwave uncovered on High 23 to 25 minutes or until tender, stir (dish will be hot). Let stand uncovered 5 minutes (sauce will thicken slightly as it stands). For high altitude: Increase hot water to 2-3/4 cups and microwave time to 25 to 27 minutes. Stove-Top: Combine potatoes, sauce mix, 2 cups hot water, 3/4 cup 2% milk, and 2 tablespoons margarine or butter in a 2-quart saucepan. Heat to boiling on high heat, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 15 to 16 minutes or until potatoes are tender and sauce is of desired consistency; stir occasionally.
