Cooking directions:
Stovetop:
1. Combine 1 1/2 quarts water, 1 quart Jasmine rice and 2 ounces butter (optional) in a stockpot. Stir well. Bring to a boil.
2. Cover, reduce heat and simmer until most of the water is absorbed (about 10 minutes).
3. Remove from heat. Let stand covered for 5 minutes.
4. Transfer to serving pan and keep warm (160 degrees F). Fluff with fork before serving.
Oven method:
1. Combine 1 1/2 quarts boiling water, 1 quart jasmine rice and 2 ounces butter (optional), in a deep half-size steam table pan. Stir well.
2. Cover and bake in a 350 degrees F oven until most of the water is absorbed (about 25-30 minutes).
3. Remove from oven and keep warm (160 degrees F). Fluff with fork before serving.
To make 3 quarts.
Number of servings 1/2 cup (#8 scoop) - 24.
1/3 cup (#12 scoop) - 36.
Jasmine rice - 1 qt. (4 cups).
Water - 1 1/2 qts. (6 cups).
Butter (optional) - 2 oz. (1/4 cup).
*Yield per 5 lb. bag: approximately 9 quarts cooked.
For best results.
For firmer rice, use less water and reduce cooking time.
For softer rice, use more water and increase cooking time.
