Directions
For a Thicker Coating: Dip fish in a mixture of 3 tablespoons milk and 2 beaten eggs before coating with Fish Batter. Preparation Instructions: You Will Need: About 2 pounds of fish. 1-1/2 cups Cold water. 1. Preheat: Shortening or oil to 375 degrees F (about 1/2 inch deep in bottom of pan). 2. Mix: Pour dry batter into a medium-sized bowl. Add 1-1/2 cup Cold Water to the dry batter. Mix together using a whisk to form a smooth batter. 3. Wet Coat: Dip coated fish into prepared wet batter until thoroughly coated, shake to remove excess batter. 4. Cook: Pan Fry Method - Fry fish in preheated shortening, turning to brown evenly, for approximately 8-12 minutes until golden brown. Drain fish on paper towel. Deep Fryer - Drop coated fish into deep fryer set at 375 degrees F and fry 4-6 minutes until golden brown. Oven Frying Method - Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Apply a thin layer of oil to the bottom of a shallow baking pan to avoid sticking. Arrange fish in a single layer in baking pan. Bake for 15 minutes, turn fish and bake for an additional 15 minutes. Complete mix - just add water. Do not eat fish that has not been prepared in a sanitary manner and fully cooked.
