The luxury glass preserving jar with traditional Kilner styling feature a very easy to use metal screw top lid made up to 2 pieces: 1. Replaceable vacuum sea. 2. Metal Screw band to secure the seal. The screw band can be re-used up to 10 times but the vacuum seal is not re-usable and will need to be replaced after each use. Preserving is both an economic and environmentally friendly way to maximise your fruit and vegetable over stocks over stocks and provided you follow the instructions, the jars will prove indespensable. Good Vacuum Seal: A good vacuum seal has been achieved when the lid is pulled down towards the food in the jar, creating a dip in the field. Figure A. Vacuum Seal Failure: A vacuum seal has not been achieved of the lid when pressed down, makes a popping sound and there is movement. Figure B. A family of Vibrant British brands. www.kilnerjar.co.uk. Make sure that the jar rim is clean and place the vacuum seal on the jar, place the outer metal band on the lid and tighten. Do not over tighten). The outer ring can be loosened during heating process. Do not retighten as this can result in seal failure. Sealed jar should be left in an upright position for 24 hours to cool.
