Thanking Shoppers For Sharing Love Through Food

Since our earliest days in San Francisco, the shopper community has played an important part in Instacart’s journey. Over the past 11 years, shoppers have picked more than 14 billion items, sent and received more than 4.5 billion customer chats, and shopped from more than 80,000 store locations — saving the day (and dinner!) for millions of families. And, since Instacart is now available to more than 95% of households across the U.S. and Canada, we believe this is just the beginning as more people rely on Instacart.

As we look forward to what’s next as a company, we want to take a moment to recognize you — the shoppers who have done so much for the communities you serve. That’s why, over the next six months, we’ll be issuing more than $15 million in rewards directly to shoppers, in acknowledgment of the important role you play in supporting families in your local communities. 

As part of this commitment and a sign of our gratitude for your contributions throughout the years, we’ll be giving a one-time shopper appreciation bonus to the shoppers who have shopped the most batches on our platform. 

Recognizing shoppers with appreciation bonuses

As a thank you to the many shoppers who have delivered for countless families over the years, we’ll be issuing shopper appreciation bonuses for shoppers who have shopped at least 5,000 batches on our platform. For those who have shopped 5,000 batches or more, we’ll offer a bonus of $500, and for those who have shopped 10,000 batches or more, we’ll offer a bonus of $2,500. 

For the shoppers who have reached an extraordinary milestone of 15,000 batches or more, we’re offering a bonus of $20,000 for your longstanding commitment to Instacart and your customers.

These appreciation bonuses will be issued on the day we become a publicly traded company. Eligible shoppers need to have shopped at least 5,000 batches on our platform, including at least one batch in the year 2023, as of August 22, 2023. Anyone who is eligible will receive an email with the amount of your bonus later today.
