How Do I Know If My Product Images Were Approved?
We recently shared information about product images on Instacart, and where they come from. If you’ve landed here, chances are you’re well on your way to getting your images updated, so read on for more information on learning when they’ve been approved.
After you’ve submitted your product details in the Library, you’ll receive an email letting you know if the submission is accepted or rejected. If it’s been accepted, you can browse Instacart to see how your images will appear to a customer.
Why do some of my product images look different from one retailer to the next?
If you’ve browsed different retailers on Instacart, you may have noticed that some products look different from one to the next. This is because some retailers don’t allow Instacart, brands or third-party content service providers (CSPs) to submit their own images, and will always prioritize their own feeds.
Because of this discrepancy, you may be unsure if your submissions have gone through. To check, we recommend that you look at three separate retailers on the Instacart Marketplace that sell your products. If at least one of them shows the product update you submitted, you’ll know that your changes have successfully gone through.
Can I override how a retailer shows my products?
Ultimately, retailers have the final decision over how product images appear within their store, and may override your product image update and display a different product image. This is true regardless of if you are working in the Library submitting your own product images or working with a CSP.
If you have any questions about how your products appear in the Library, you can reach out to your Instacart representative. In the meantime, for more best practices and 101 content to help you become an expert at using Instacart Ads Manager, stay tuned for the next post on the Ads blog.
