Introducing Customer Insights
In this article, we look at the new reporting feature available on the Ads Manager which eligible brand partners can use to quickly access up-to-date data and insights (including market share) on their performance on the Instacart marketplace, on demand.
We are releasing a new feature on Ads Manager — Customer Insights — for eligible brand partners. Customer Insights provides fast, direct access to brand partners’ data and insights from across the 600+ retailers and 55,000 stores on the Instacart marketplace. It provides these insights in a syndicated hierarchy with thousands of categories and sub-categories.
Customer Insights provides data and insights on sales and market share through an easy-to-use self-service portal. Brands can specify the date range of data and insights they want to review, filter the data by several attributes like brand, department, or category, and change how they want the data broken down, drilling into data by brand, category, department, and more.
How does it work?
Eligible CPGs and brand partners advertising with us can create their own sales and share reports using Customer Insights. Creating reports is relatively straightforward — users select the date range they want to report on, the metrics they want included on the report, and the platform generates the report pulling up-to-date data from Instacart’s robust and rich data source.
Users can refine their report by adding filters and editing the breakdown, drilling down to examine metrics as they want. Just some of the examples include drilling into insights per brand per category; looking at sales data per category by region; or breaking down sales by department and channel.
Once they have their report the way they want it, users can save it for future reference or export it for offline editing and sharing. Customer Insights supports saving the report as a spreadsheet, enabling the user to further manipulate their view of the data using their preferred spreadsheet application.
Benefits of the Customer Insights feature
The new Customer Insights feature puts brand partners behind the wheel and lets them direct their own insights journey, pulling their data and insights when they want, how they want it reported on.
