What is aluminum foil? Aluminum Foil starts from a large solid block of aluminum. It is rolled, much like pie crust is rolled, until it becomes a long thin continuous sheet.

The shiny surface on one side of the foil is the result of a rolling manufacturing process that allows you the option of a bright sparking surface or a shiny satiny surface. The difference in reflectivity of shiny and dull sides is minimal.
