Inspired by Amanda, our deep dish recipe uses just the right amounts of real butter and shortening to create our flakiest crust ever. Combined with our best seasonal fruit bursting with flavor, and our signature spices, Mrs. Smith's® pies and cobblers create a home filled with aroma and home-baked goodness that's always a warm welcome.


Ingredients

Filling: Apples Water, Sugar, Food Starch Modified, Corn Syrup, Salt, Spice, Citric Acid, Ascorbic Acid, Xanthan Gum. Crust: Wheat Flour, Vegetable Shortening (Palm Oil and Soybean Oil with Mono- and Diglycerides), Water, Butter (Cream, Salt), Dextrose, Salt, Yeast. Streusel: Wheat Flour, Brown Sugar, Vegetable Shortening (Palm Oil and Soybean Oil with Mono- and Diglycerides), Sugar, Butter (Cream, Salt), Soybean Oil, Spice, Salt.


Directions

Bake before serving. Keep frozen...until ready to Enjoy!

For food safety and quality cook before eating to an internal temperature of 160F. Keep frozen until ready to bake.

1. Remove pie from freezer. Place oven rack in center position. Preheat oven to 375F. Leave pie on counter while oven is preheating. 2. Remove frozen pie from box, and remove plastic overwrap from pie. Do not remove pie from original pan. 3. Center frozen pie on a cookie sheet lined with aluminum foil, and place in preheated oven. 4. Bake pie for 40 to 50 minutes. 5. Remove pie on cookie sheet from oven using oven mitts. Do not removed pie by pan edge. Distribute streusel evenly over the top of pie. 6. Continue baking pie for an additional 20 minutes, or until streusel is golden brown. Since ovens vary, adjust time and temperature as necessary. remove pie on cookie sheet from oven using oven mitts. Do not handle pie by edge of pan. 7. Cool for 2 hours or until pie reaches serving temperature. Pies are best when freshly baked.

Store leftover baked pie loosely covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Please Note: Baking pie on cookie sheet helps crust to bake more evenly.
