Previously frozen for your protection, refreeze or keep refrigerated. How to Prepare: Cook bison as you would any lean meat. Lightly coat with your favorite oil to prevent meat from sticking to the grill or pan. Fat in meat acts as an insulator and slows down the cooking process. Bison has a low fat (3g fat per 114g serving) content and usually cooks quickly. Overcooking may occur if proper care isn't taken. Cooking Tips: Using A Skillet - Cook at a lower heat than normal or use a Medium-High heat for 2 minutes to sear and then reduce heat to Medium-Low to complete cooking. Broil or Grill - Move the grill rack or broil pan down about 2 inches farther away from the heat source than you would cooking beef. Bison cooks faster, so check frequently to avoid overcooking. Marinate & baste frequently as bison needs to be kept moist. Safe Handling Instructions: This product was prepared from inspected and passed meat and/or poultry. some food products may contain bacteria that could cause illness if the product is mishandled or cooked improperly. For your protection, follow these safe handling instructions. Keep refrigerated or frozen. Thaw in refrigerator. Keep raw meat and poultry products away from other foods. Wash working surface (including cutting boards), utensils, and hands after touching raw meat or poultry. Cook thoroughly. Keep hot foods hot. Refrigerate leftovers immediately or discard.
