8 dry quarts. Net weight: 2.5 lb (1.1 kg). Feeds up to 6 months! With Miracle-Go continuous release plant food. For indoor and outdoor container plants. Grows big, beautiful violets. pH adjusted. Big blossoms, brilliant color! Great for other houseplants too! Exclusive formula! A ready-to-use, specially formulated mix for African Violets, which require a composted medium with slightly acidic pH (6.0-6.8). Rich, organic materials help improve drainage and airflow. Feeds up to 6 months to help build strong root systems. For spectacular results - supplement the nutrients of this mix by using Miracle-Gro Liquid African Violet Food. Follow package directions. This 8-qt bag fills two 8 inch-wide pots. Amounts may vary depending on the size of the root ball. Growing Tips for African Violets: Lighting: African Violets need plenty of indirect sunlight. Window sills or window boxes are ideal, but too much sun will bleach out leaves and flowers may brown and fall off. It's best to allow only a couple hours of indirect sunlight daily, moving it to a more protected area the remainder of the day. Watering: African Violets only need water when the leaves become slightly wilted or the soil becomes very dry. If watering from the top, be sure not to splash water on the leaves or soak the crown of the plant. A second method is to immerse the bottom of the pot in standing water until the soil is damp to the touch. Feeding: Fertilizing should occur regularly every six weeks, except during winter months, which only require you feed at the beginning and end of winter. Repotting: African Violets will not grow well if roots become bound. Periodically check to see if your African Violet has become overly rooted and repot if needed.
