Tile Type: Porcelain; 0-15 in longest side of tile; 15 in + longest side of tile. Tile Type: Stone; 0-3 in longest side of tile; 3 in + longest side of tile. Tile Type: Glass. Average Coverage: Longest Side of Tile: Less than 8 in; 1/4 in x 1/4 in x 1/4 in square-notch trowel size; 85-95 sq ft per 50 lb bag. Longest Side of Tile: 8 in to 15 in; 1/4 in x 3/8 in x 1/4 in square-notch trowel size; 60-67 sq ft per 50 lb bag. For tile with the longest side 15 in +, use a medium bed mortar from custom designed for large format and heavy tile. 1. Clean surface of contaminants. 2. Add cool water. 3. Add mortar. 4. Mix to a smooth, paste-like consistency. 5. Wait 5-10 minutes 6. Re-mix mortar. 7. Apply skim coat with flat side of trowel. 8. Apply mortar with notch trowel. 9. Press tile firmly into place. 10. Level tile surface with other tile. 11 Lightly clean off excess mortar with damp sponge. Caution: Do not over water. 12. Wait 24 hour before using or grouting surface. 13. Clean joints - then ready to grout. 14. Grout with Fusion Pro, the stain-proof, color-perfect single component grout, Polyblend or Prism Grout. Uses: Bonds vitreous, semi-vitreous of absorptive tile including ceramic, mosaic, quarry, porcelain, metal and glass tile; precast terrazzo; brick, mini-brick; gauged natural stone tile. For interior or exterior floors, walls, or countertops. Use white mortar when installing light colored or translucent marble, glass tile or when using light colored grout. When setting moisture sensitive natural stone, tile or agglomerates , use EBM-Lite Epoxy Bonding Mortar-100% Solids. Do not use to install resin-backed stone. When setting glass tile over 6 in x 6 in (15 x 15 cm) or other synthetic bodied tile, contact Technical Services for recommendations. When setting dimensional stone larger than 12 in x 12 in (30 x 30 cm) contact Technical Services for recommendations regarding subfloor deflection. Acceptable Surfaces: Apply over, mortar beds, masonry, backerboards, Portland cement plaster, gypsum wallboard (dry areas), existing ceramic tile, exterior grade plywood (interior dry areas), sheet vinyl flooring, VCT, plastic laminates or cutback adhesive. Do not bond directly to hardwood, Luan plywood, particle board, Parquet, cushion or sponge-back vinyl flooring, metal fiberglass, plastic or OSB panels.
