Specially blended for woodpeckers, cardinals, nuthatches, grosbeaks, juncos & more. Extra energy. Birds require lots of energy for flying, for keeping warm and for many other daily activities. By offering the right high energy foods that birds like, you can attract them to your feeder and help them replenish their bodies. Pound for pound, nothing offers more energy than fruit & nuts. Kaytee Nut & Fruit Blend is a premium mix of healthful seeds and grains with added nuts and fruit pieces to appeal to a great variety of colorful songbirds. Cardinals, chickadees, nuthatches, woodpeckers, and may others all love nuts and fruit. Kaytee Nut & Fruit Blend is a great high-energy food that is perfect for year-round feeding. Suggested Feeders: hopper feeder; large tube feeder; platform feeder. How to Attract Wild Birds: Provide Food Year-Round: Wild birds spend much of their day looking for food. It takes a lot of energy to fly, so they're always looking for their next meal. This is why it's so easy to attract wild birds with seeds and blends. Birds will frequent your feeders more often and stay longer if you provide a consistent, reliable source of high-energy seeds and blends from Kaytee. Provide a Source of Fresh Water: Water is also very important for wild birds. They use it to clean their feathers and for drinking. Birds will also stop more often and stay longer if you can give them a source of fresh water like a bird bath, garden pond or fountain. Running water works best because birds can hear it, and it's easier for them to use if it's three inches deep or less. Place Feeders Near Shrubs and Trees for Cover: Wild birds are always at risk of predation. When they're at the feeder they spend more time looking out for hawks and other predators than they do feeding. Placing feeders near trees or shrubs offers them protection. Wild birds use trees and shrubs to escape and hide from predators, to rest and sometimes to nest. They will be happier using your feeders when you place them close to cover. See what birds you can attract with Kaytee Nut & Fruit Blend. Seed Attraction Chart: Seed Attraction Chart: American Goldfinch: black oil sunflower; mixed nuts & peanuts; safflower.
