directions for use - to ease snow removal: apply this product at the beginning of snow storm if possible. Broadcast approximately 1/4 oz per square yard of area to be treated. For ice removal: apply this product evenly over surface at the rate of approximately 8 oz (1 cup) per square yard of area to be treated for each 1/4 inch of ice. Use precautions: simply done ice melt will not chemically harm concrete. The durability of concrete is affected by many factors including the age of the concrete, the quality of the mixing, finishing, curing, and the presence of air-entrainment in the concrete mix to guard against damage from freeze-thaw cycles. All concrete should be properly placed, cured and sealed. Do not use in excessive amounts which may cause an increase in surface flaking, scaling, chipping, and cracking. As with all ice melters, this product should not be used on precast concrete steps, precast masonry walks or steps, poor quality concrete or new concrete less than one year old. These concrete products are more susceptible to damage. The user must determine the suitability before application. Applications of simply done ice melt followed by quick removal of snow and ice will lessen the possibility of damage.
