stove top rice pudding - serves 8 (1/2 cup each). All you need: 1 bag hy-vee boil-in-bag rice, 2 cups hy-vee whole milk, 1 hy-vee large egg, 1/2 cup hy-vee sugar, 2 tbsp hy-vee corn starch, pinch hy-vee salt, 1 tbsp hy-vee butter, 1-1/2 tsp hy-vee pure vanilla, hy-vee ground cinnamon, optional. All you do: 1. Prepare rice according to package directions. 2. Meanwhile, whisk together milk and egg in a heavy saucepan. Combine sugar, corn starch and salt in a separate bowl and whisk into milk mixture. Add butter. 3. Heat over medium heat. Stir slowly and constantly until mixture thickens and starts to boil. Remove from heat. 4. Stir in vanilla and hot rice. Allow to cool briefly before serving. Sprinkle with cinnamon, if desired.
