We have listed a few basic rules to ensure successful preserving and canning: Before use, ensure jar surfaces are free from chips, scratches or any remnants of food. If jars are found to have chips or scratches, discard and replace with new ones. Avoid the use of metallic or abrasive sponges and allow jars to dry naturally. 70 mm lids fit Kilner preserve jars with a 70 mm mouth, Always check screw bands for signs of deterioration before use. Before Preserving and canning, jars and lids must be sterilised. When filling a hot jar, be sure to leave appropriate headspace Between the preserve and the top of the jar. We recommended approximately 1-2 cm/1/2 to 3/4 inches. Remove air bubbles with a bubble remover spatula. Ensure the jar rim is perfectly clean and place the vacuum dises on the jar, place the outer screw band on the lid and tighten. (Do not over tighten). Do not retighten as this may result in seal failure. Process the jar using your preferred method or following your recipe instruction.Care and Use: Always clean jar and lids before use. Wash throughout and rinse in clean, warm water. Jars are dishwasher safe. Screw bands can be washed in warm water. Vacuum dises can only be used once. Replacement bands and dises are available.
