White Rice Conventional Method: 2 cups of water 1 cup of Arroz Rico rice, salt and oil to taste. 1. In a medium saucepan, add salt and oil to water and bring to a boil. 2. Add the rice to the boiling water, stirring only once to mix the ingredients. 3. Cook uncovered on high until water is absorbed approximately 10 minutes. 4. Stir rice, once. 5. Covered and cook on very low heat for twenty minutes. You may vary the amount of water depending on your personal taste. It is important to stir rice only once so that the consistency of the rice will be tender but not mushy. White Rice Microwave: 1-1/4 cups of water. 1 cup of Arroz Rico rice, salt and oil to taste. 1. Put ingredients on a 2 quart microwave safe dish, with lid. 2. Cook on high heat for 5 minutes. 3. Next cook on medium heat for 10 minutes. 4. Let it rest covered for 5 minutes. The rice should not be uncovered during preparation time.
