Directions for use:
1. Before installing mulch, remove all existing weeds.
2. If there is already a layer of older mulch, lightly rake the surface before applying fresh mulch. This will loosen the layer and create spaces for air and water to flow down to the mineral soil.
3. Apply mulch at depth of 2-4" for maximum benefit of weed control, moisture retention, and creating consistent mineral soil temperatures to benefit plant growth.
4. When mulching around existing shrubs and trees, apply an even layer out to plant's drip line or beyond. Avoid piling or "coning" mulch directly against tree trunks.
5. During periods of dry weather, when watering the mulched area, use a slow method such as a soaker hose or drip buckets to allow the water to penetrate through the mulch to the mineral soil. Heavy, fast watering will create runoff in the mulched area.
6. Apply mulch at any time of year. Add an extra layer of mulch in the fall to provide additional insulation for the roots during winter months.
Best uses: Decorate garden beds; reduce weeds; conserve water.

- Pick up orders have no service fees, regardless of non-Instacart+ or Instacart+ membership.

- Find Best Match: By default, your shopper will use their best judgement to pick a replacement for your item.
- Pick Specific Replacement: You can pick a specific alternative for the shopper to purchase if your first choice is out-of-stock.
- Don't Replace: For items you'd rather not replace, choose "Don't replace" to get a refund if the item is out of stock.
