How to use and care for your Pyrex glassware:

Pyrex glassware can be used for cooking, baking, warming, and reheating food in microwave ovens, and in preheated conventional or convection ovens.

Pyrex glassware is dishwasher safe, and may also be washed by hand. When using dishwasher, load dishes to avoid bumping against other items during dishwashing cycle. When cleaning your Pyrex glassware, use non-abrasive cleansers. If scouring is necessary, use only plastic or nylon cleaning pads, again with non-abrasive cleansers.

This product is intended for normal household use only; it is not intended for camping, industrial or commercial use.

How to use and care for your Pyrex accessories lids.

There are two types of lids for your Pyrex glassware-glass lids and plastic lids. Plastic lids are BPA free.

Glass lids:

The warnings provided above for your Pyrex glassware also apply to glass lids.

Can be used as a cover for your Pyrex glassware in a preheated oven.

Can be used in a preheated oven, microwave oven, refrigerator or freezer.

When cleaning glass lids, use non-abrasive cleansers. If scouring is necessary, use only plastic or nylon cleaning pads, again with non-abrasive cleansers.

Plastic lids:

Can be used in a microwave oven, refrigerator or freezer.

Do not use in a conventional or convection oven.

Do not use on or under a flame or other direct heat source, including on a stovetop, under a broiler, on a grill or in a toaster oven.

Removable seal must be properly in place, and all edges of the lid must be secured onto glass, in order to eliminate leaks (No-Leak Lids™ items only).

Vent must be open during microwave use (No-Leak Lids items only).

Portables® accessories.

When used for hot foods:

Prepare and bake or microwave foods in your Pyrex glassware in accordance with the above safety and usage instructions. Approximately four minutes before your hot dish is ready to put in the carrier, heat the hot/cold pack in your microwave oven. Avoid over-heating the hot/cold pack. See heating instructions printed on the hot/cold pack.

Do not use carrying case in a microwave oven.

Hot foods should be at appropriate temperature when placed into the carrying case. As soon as possible, and no more than two minutes after removing the Pyrex glassware from the microwave or oven, carefully put the plastic lid directly on the hot dish. Immediately place dish in carrying case.

Use potholders to remove the hot/cold pack from the microwave, with caution. Use potholders to slide the hot/cold pack under the inside bottom flap of the carrying case. Use the zipper to close the bag.

When used for cold foods:

Lay the hot/cold pack in your freezer. Freeze overnight (more than 8 hours). If your freezer temperature is at or above 0 degrees F (-17.8 degrees C), the hot/cold pack may remain somewhat flexible. If the hot/cold pack becomes too stiff and does not fit inside the pocket of the carrier, you may have to let it set for up to two minutes until it softens so that it is flexible.

Prepare and refrigerate or freeze cold foods in your Pyrex glassware. Cold food must be thoroughly chilled to 40 degrees F (4.4 degrees C) or colder when placed in the carrying case. Allow adequate time after food preparation to chill properly.

Slide the hot/cold pack into the inside bottom of the carrying case. Put the plastic lid on the Pyrex glassware. Immediately place the dish in the carrier. Use the zipper to close the bag.

Transporting food in your Portables® accessories:

Close carrying case zipper. Carrying case should be held/carried as level as possible to avoid leakage.

Plastic lids are not airtight. Overfilled dishes or liquid from foods may leak. Be sure to use the plastic lid whenever you transport food in your Pyrex glassware. As with any covered dish, condensation may develop on the underside of the plastic lid. Remove lid with care.

Do not drop or bump carrying case, this may break the Pyrex glassware inside.

Cleaning your portables accessories:

Hot/cold pack: clean with a sponge or cloth using soap and hot water. Do not place in washing machine, dishwasher or dryer.

Carrying case: hand wash only, wipe clean with damp sponge or cloth. Do not use bleach. Hang to dry. Do not iron. To prevent mildew, make sure carrying case is completely dry.

Baskets.

Baskets should be used for serving only, and only when dry.

To clean, wipe with a slightly damp, soapy cloth. Dry with paper towel.

Do not immerse in water.

Do not use in oven, microwave or dishwasher.

Warnings

Avoid extreme temp changes.

Warning: do not use on stovetop, under broiler, in a toaster oven, or place over oven vent or pilot light. Please read safety and usage instructions packed inside before using.

Safety and usage instructions and warranties.

Read these instructions and warranties carefully and save them for future reference.

Pyrex® glassware safety and usage instructions:

As with all glass products, you must exercise an appropriate degree of care, especially when cooking food at high temperatures. There are three primary risks associated with using glassware for cooking.

1. Breakage due to sudden temperature change applied to the glassware.

2. Breakage due to impact if the glassware is dropped or knocked against a hard object.

3. Burning when handling hot glassware.

Warnings:

Failure to follow the warnings below may result in personal injury or property damage, or may cause your glassware to break or shatter immediately or later.

Avoid sudden temperature changes to your glassware. To avoid the risk of breakage due to a sudden temperature change to your Pyrex glassware, do not add liquid to hot glassware, place hot glassware on a wet or cool surface, or handle hot glassware with a wet towel, wet potholder or other wet cloth. Do not place hot glassware directly on a countertop or any metal surface, or in the sink. Allow hot glassware to cool on a cooling rack, dry potholder or dry cloth. Be sure to allow hot glassware to cool as provided above before washing, refrigerating or freezing.

Oven must be preheated before inserting glassware. Do not insert glassware into oven for cooking or reheating until the oven has been preheated to the desired temperature.

Do not use on or under a flame or other direct heat source, including on a stovetop, under a broiler, on a grill or in a toaster oven.

Add liquid to the bottom of glassware when cooking certain foods. When preparing food that may release liquid, add a small amount of liquid sufficient to cover the bottom of the glassware prior to cooking.

Avoid handling hot glassware (including ware with silicone gripping surfaces) without appropriate protection for your hands, such as dry potholders or a dry thick towel.

Avoid microwave misuse. Do not: use glassware to microwave popcorn or foods wrapped in heat-concentrating material (such as special browning wrappers); heat empty or nearly empty glassware in the microwave; or overheat oil or butter in microwave (use minimum cooking time).

Be careful when handling broken glass. Broken glass pieces may be extremely sharp and difficult to locate.

Avoid using or repairing damaged glassware. Handling your glassware without an appropriate degree of care could result in breakage, chipping, cracking or severe scratching. Do not use or repair any glassware that is broken, chipped, cracked or severely scratched.

Do not drop or hit glassware against a hard object.

Do not strike utensils against glassware.
