Miracle-Gro® Orchid Potting Mix Coarse Blend. For indoor & outdoor container plants. Specially formulated to provide quick drainage for orchid types that require good air movement and drier conditions between waterings. This 8 quart bag will fill 2 - 8" containers and it feeds up to 6 months.
Derived from: Polymer Coated: Ammonium Nitrate, Ammonium Phosphate, Calcium Phosphate, and Potassium Sulfate.
Easy-to-use instructions: We recommend wearing gardening gloves when using this or other planting materials. 1. Select a pot with a drain hole. 2. Fill pot about 1/3 full. 3. Loosen root ball before placing into new pot. 4. Fill voids between root ball and pot leaving 1/2 inch between soil surface and pot rim. 5. Water, let drain. Lighting: Direct sunlight may burn orchids and too little light may prevent them from flowering. Grassy green leaves and blooming are an indication that your orchid is getting the right amount of light. Orchids with yellow and brown leaves might need more shade. Thin, floppy, and dark green leaves indicate plants need to be placed in a brighter spot. Watering: Make sure the mix is dry to the touch between waterings and when watering do not wet leaves. Do not allow plants to sit in drainage water. If orchid's leaves turn yellow and show signs of rot, it may be a sign you are over-watering; reduce watering frequency. Repotting: The primary reason for repotting orchids is to give the plant a fresh potting medium, rather than a larger size pot. Pot size should be determined based on size of the root mass, but in general orchids like a smaller containment area. Depending on the needs of the individual plants, orchids should be repotted every 18 to 24 months.
Keep out of reach of children.
