Sugar cookie specials:
Sugar cookie dough (purchased or your favorite recipes).
Hershey's cocoa or Hershey's special dark cocoa 48 Hershey's Kisses brand special dark mildly sweet chocolates, unwrapped*.
1 teaspoon shortening (not butter, margarine, spread or oil).
1. Heat oven to required temperature. Divide dough in half; roll out one half at a time to 1/4-inch thickness following package or recipe directions. Cut into desired shapes with cookie cutters; place on ungreased cookie sheet.
2. Bake according to package or recipe directions. Cool completely on cooling racks. Sprinkle cookies with cocoa.
3. Place 12 chocolates and shortening in small microwave-safe bowl. Microwave at medium (50%) 1 minute; stir. If necessary, microwave at medium 15 seconds at a time, stirring after each heating, until chocolates are melted and mixture is smooth when stirred. Drizzle cookies. Before drizzle sets, place chocolate on each cookie. Cookie yield will vary according to recipe used and size of cookie.
*This number of chocolates will drizzle and top about 3 dozen cookies.
