Firewiseâ„¢. Made from 100% renewable resources. Duraflame stixâ„¢ firestarters are made from 100% renewable waxes and oils combined with recycled wood and agricultural fibers. No petro-chemicals are used. Reduces total emissions from wood fires. Using duraflame stixâ„¢ firestarters to light a wood fire results in faster and more complete ignition of the fire, reducing emissions of particulate matter and carbon monoxide.

Ingredients

Stix Multi-Use Firestarters.

Directions

Instructions for lighting a wood fire:

1. Break off two (2) stix firestarter sticks. (Store remaining firestarters pieces in a recloseable bag for future use.)

2. Place in an "X" configuration on the center of the fireplace grate.

3. Place a couple pieces of firewood around the firestarters. Light the ends of the firestarters.

4. Once the fire is ignited, carefully add more wood as needed. Close fireplace screen.

Instructions for lighting a BBQ fire:

Use 1/2 a firestarter stick per 2lb of charcoal.

1. Use 1/2 of a stix firestarter stick for each 2lbs of charcoal. Break off one (1) section from the block of six. Break that piece in half. (Store the remaining firestarter pieces in a reclosable bag for future use.)

2. Place the 1/2-piece on the bottom of the grill (under the charcoal grate). (If the grill has a flat bottom, break off two small pieces from the ends of the 1/2-piece and use them as supports under the larger piece to allow air flow under the starter material.)

3. Replace the bottom grate and arrange charcoal briquettes in a pile on the grate. Light the starter through the grate with a utility lighter or long-stem match. 4. Begin cooking after the majority of the briquettes have ashed over.

Warnings

Keep out of reach from children and pets. Not suitable for human or animal consumption. California proposition 65 warning: burning fireplace or wood stove fuels such as natural firewood results in the emission of carbon monoxide, soot, and other combustion by-products which are known by the state of california to cause cancer, birth defects, or reproductive harm. Use caution when building a wood fire: open fireplace damper before lighting a fire. Close wire mesh protective screen after the fire has started. Do not poke burning firestarters as flaming particles may stick to the tools. Never add any volatiles (E.G., liquid firestarter, aerosol cans) to any fire. Never leave a fire unattended, nor allow children or pets to play near the fireplace. If necessary to extinguish a fire, use a fire extinguisher or carefully douse fire with water or sand. Use caution when lighting a BBQ fire: always follow charcoal and grill manufacturers' instructions. Only use BBQ outdoors in a well- ventilated area. Store firestarters in a cool, dry place away from heat and direct sunlight.
