Zerto Genuine Authentic Sun Dried Tomato & Garlic Polenta. History of polenta. In Italy, Polenta is a versatile alternative to pasta, bread or rice, and is especially suited for meat dishes that have plenty of sauce. In northern Italy, it's as popular as pasta is in the south. Wheat free. Gluten free. Fat free. Organic! Traditionally, the first cooking step required is stirring for 40-45 minutes in a copper kettle over a hot fire. Pre-cooked polenta eliminates this tedious chore, while preserving polenta's ancient Italian heritage. USDA organic.
Water, Organic Yellow Corn Meal, Organic Sun Dried Tomatoes, Organic Dehydrated Garlic, Salt, Tartaric Acid, Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C), Beta Carotene (Vitamin A).
Pre-cooked. Ready to heat & serve. Refrigerate after opening. Do not freeze. There may be some water separation, this is normal. Serving suggestions: Cut into 1/2" slices, use 2-3 slices per serving, top with your favorite sauce, then heat in microwave for 60-90 seconds on high. In conventional ovens, bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes. Polenta can also be pan fried on medium heat or broiled with a small amount of oil or butter. Serve as a plain accompaniment or top with sauce and grated cheese. May also be deep fried. Cut slices in half, fry plain or use egg dip and coat with bread crumbs. Fry at about 350 degrees for 4-5 minutes. Eat plain or dip in marinara sauce. Quick recipe ideas: Toss cubes of polenta into your favorite soups. Great for lasagna, place layers of sliced polenta topped with spaghetti sauce, cheeses, ground beef, top with more mozzarella and bake.
