Our Mezze Penne is made from the finest durum wheat and is non-GMO verified, peanut-free and suitable for a vegan or vegetarian diet.
Like its 'sister' Penne, Mezze Penne resembles an old-style quill pen, yet is more slender and slightly shorter.
The thin, shorter cut of Mezze Penne has the same ridges as Penne that help hold the pasta sauce.
Ingredients
Semolina (wheat), Durum Wheat Flour. Vitamins/minerals: Vitamin B3 (niacin), Iron (ferrous Sulfate), Vitamin B1 (thiamine Mononitrate), Vitamin B2 (riboflavin), Folic Acid.
Directions
1. Bring 4 - 6 quarts of water to a rolling boil, add salt to taste.
2. Add contents of package to boiling water. Stir gently.
3. Return to a boil. For authentic "al dente" pasta, boil uncovered, stirring occasionally for 9 minutes. For more tender pasta, boil an additional 1 minute.
4. Remove from heat. Drain well.
5. Serve immediately with your favorite Barilla sauce.
