Keep it Fresh: Store whole bean coffee in an airtight container in the freezer or a cool, dry place until it's time to brew. Grinding Whole Bean: Start with just enough beans for one pot of coffee. Use 1 - 2 level tablespoons of ground coffee for every 6 ounces of water. Courser grounds make milder coffee. If ground too fine, the coffee can taste bitter. Use the Right Equipment: For best results, use a French press or automatic drip coffee maker with the appropriate size filter. Water is an important ingredient in a good cup of coffee, so always start with fresh, cool water. For best flavor, use bottled or filtered water.
