When you have changes to your personal information, it’s easy to update your name, delivery address(es), and phone number on Instacart. You can also update your email notification preferences and how we contact you about deliveries in your account.

Updating profile information

To make changes to your name, email address, phone number, or password, follow the directions for the website or app.

In the app—

  1. Tap the 3 stacked horizontal lines in the upper left corner 
  2. Tap Your account settings
  3. Tap Account Info
  4. Tap the information you’d like to change
  5. Update the information and tap Save

On the website—

  1. At the top right, click either Account or Hi, [Your Name]
  2. Click Your Account
  3. Click Change or Create next to the information you’d like to update
  4. Update the information and click Save

Please note—if you use Facebook or Google to log into your account, you’ll have to update your account information in your Facebook or Google account.

Updating delivery address

You can add, update, or remove delivery addresses on the Instacart homepage or in account settings.

On the homepage—

1. Select the address listed at the top of the screen address_app_1.jpeg
2. To add an address, enter the address in the Add a new address bar, and select Save Address address_app_2.jpeg
3. To edit an address, select Edit next to the address, edit it, and select Save Address address_app_3.jpeg
4. To remove an address, select Edit next to the address, and select Delete address address_app_4.jpeg

You can also include delivery instructions for specific addresses in this section of the app.

In account settings—

1. On the app, tap the three stacked horizontal lines in the upper left corner or on the website, click either Account or Hi, [Your Name] at the top right 2. Select Your account settings 3. Select Addresses

Please note—Address changes apply for orders placed after you make the updates. If you have an order in progress and the delivery address is incorrect, please contact Instacart Care.

Updating notifications and email settings

You can decide how you’d like to get notifications and emails from Instacart—or you can opt out of them altogether.

In the app—

  1. Tap the 3 stacked horizontal lines in the upper left corner 
  2. Tap Your account settings
  3. Tap Notifications
  4. From here, you can toggle on or off the types of notifications you receive about order updates or sales/promotions.

On the website—

  1. At the top right, click either Account or Hi, [Your Name]
  2. Click Your Account
  3. Click Notifications
  4. From here, you can toggle on or off the types of notifications you receive about order updates or sales/promotions. 

If you’re in the United States, you can also opt-in to or opt-out of SMS marketing updates during checkout. While checking out, simply add your phone number, if you haven’t already, then select the checkbox next to Text me about deals and promotions. This checks the box, opting you into receiving marketing text messages. If you have already opted in, it unchecks the box, opting you out.

Reply to SMS marketing texts with STOP to opt-out.

Please note—if you turn off all notifications for order updates, you won’t get any alerts about the status of your order, including replacements and refunds.

To change your email subscription settings, navigate to the Notifications page in the app or on the website.

  • In the app—toggle on/off Receive marketing emails
  • On Instacart.com—select Manage email preferences to opt-in/out of marketing emails.

Please note—you’ll still receive emailed order confirmations, even if you unsubscribe from marketing emails. 

If you’re not receiving emails from Instacart, please check your “Spam” or “Junk” folders to ensure the message was not filtered or flagged incorrectly.
