Empowering Grocers to Make Online Grocery More Affordable for Customers

Today, we’re announcing new capabilities for retailers designed to help make shopping more personalized and affordable for their customers, while building brand loyalty: new marketing solutions that empower grocery retailers of all sizes and budgets to connect with customers, and new loyalty capabilities that make it easy for customers to sign up for and access savings from participating retailers’ loyalty programs directly in the Instacart App.

With Instacart Marketing Solutions, retailers can help serve targeted promotions for customers using the Instacart App or their Instacart Platform-powered websites and apps. This means retailers will be able to provide tailored discounts to target new customers, offer promotions on curated collections for seasonal moments like Mother’s Day, and offer discounts when customers sign up for their loyalty programs. Available across owned and paid channels such as email, social media, or via the Instacart App, these promotions incentivize customers to shop with particular retailers during key moments and boost the likelihood of repeat purchases – all while helping to save dollars at checkout. Dozens of retailers – including Bristol Farms, New Seasons Market and The Save Mart Companies – are already using Instacart Marketing Solutions.

 

 

Retailers have three flexible options when opting for Instacart Marketing Solutions:

  • Self-Serve is a speedy and user-friendly option for retailers looking to build their own marketing campaigns through the Instacart App or their Storefront Pro-powered website. 
  • Campaign Management is designed for retailers ready to take their campaigns to the next level, expanding their reach across multiple channels. Our experienced teams will handle everything from creative development to launch management and measurement reporting, using proven tactics to quickly get campaigns to market. 
  • Our Strategic Partnership tier is tailored for retailers with dedicated marketing budgets, offering a white-glove, customizable solution that enhances unique initiatives like custom video shoots and tailored advertising strategies. 

Through Instacart Marketing Solutions, retailers are reaching customers with creative campaigns, engaging customers in new and exciting ways, fostering lasting relationships and driving sales. 

Alongside Instacart Marketing Solutions, our newly-expanded loyalty capabilities bridge online and offline savings, helping to create greater affordability for customers. We’re proud to be the first and only marketplace today to offer native sign-up for grocers’ loyalty programs, and retailers that allow customers to use their loyalty accounts in the Instacart App have seen as much as a 10% increase in customer retention. The Fresh Market will be one of the first retailers to enable loyalty account creation in the Instacart App.

As CBO, Chris is responsible for the commercial success of the Instacart Platform and delivering on the company’s long-term retail enablement vision. Prior to his role as CBO, Chris served as Instacart’s Vice President of Retail, where he focused on building and deepening relationships with hundreds of retail partners and leading thousands of marketplace and enterprise brand partnerships across North America. Prior to joining Instacart in 2019, Chris spent 11 years at Apple in various leadership roles, including Managing Director for Apple Canada.
