What is a mocktail?

Mocktails are delicious drinks that duplicate conventional cocktails, sans the alcohol. Why use mocktail recipes? Besides the advantage of zero hangovers, mocktails can also be nutrient-dense, utilizing ingredients such as coconut water and fresh juices. Mocktails can also aid in hydration, whereas alcohol dehydrates you.

Here’s a look at some mocktail recipes to add some zing to your evening!

1. Mulled pomegranate mocktail

Hot mulled wine with apples, pomegranate, orange, anise and cinnamon with fresh fruits on slate marble background.

You’ll need a cinnamon stick, some rosemary, ½ an orange, 1 teaspoon of sumac, ¼ teaspoon of orange blossom water, 1 liter of pomegranate juice, and some coriander seeds. Pour your pomegranate juice into a pan and gently warm. Add all your ingredients, except the orange blossom water, to the pan and meld well. Finally, add the orange blossom water before serving and enjoy. 

2. Shirley Temple

This is great for adults and kids alike and can be whipped up in only 2 minutes. For this, mix some grenadine syrup with 6 ounces of lemon or lime fizzy drink, and garnish with a cherry!

3. Italian cream soda

A classic, refreshing drink perfect for a hot day. Place ice cubes in a large glass. Add soda water and a mix of watermelon and passion fruit syrup, and add an ounce of half-and-half cream to the top of the glass. Add a sprig of mint for garnish. 

4. Virgin sunset

Place some ice into a glass. Add ¼ cup of cranberry juice, orange juice, and pineapple juice to the ice before adding some grenadine syrup. Garnish with a cherry for a splash of nostalgia and get ready to relax. 

5. Arnold Palmer

This takes approximately 3 minutes to concoct. You’ll need ½ cup of iced tea, ¼ cup of lemonade, and a few slices of lemon to garnish. Fill a glass with some crushed ice, add your lemonade, stir, garnish, and voila! 

6. Mocktail recipe mojito style

Make this refreshing non-alcoholic drink with 6 ounces of sparkling water, a lime, some honey for a sweet edge, a few mint leaves, and a sprig of mint to use as garnish. Cut the lime into 5 pieces. Add 4 pieces of lime to your glass with the honey to taste. Mix this thoroughly, and add 10 mint leaves. Add some crushed ice and sparkling water to the mint leaves. Use a lime wedge with mint as a garnish. 

7. Passion fruit martini

You’ll need 3 halved passion fruits, a juiced lemon, ice, an egg white, a teaspoon of sugar syrup, some sparkling grape juice, and a zero-alcohol spirit. Place the passion fruit in your cocktail shaker, add your ice, fill your martini glass with the grape juice, and use some of the passion fruit to decorate your glass.

8. Citrus peach cooler

Your ingredients for this are sparkling water, a sprig of mint, peach nectar, the juice of 2 freshly squeezed lemons, juice derived from 2 limes, lemonade, a sliced strawberry, as well as a slice of lime and lemon. Place your lemon and lime juice in a pitcher. Add your peach nectar, ice, and lemonade. Add your mint, strawberry slices, and sparkling water. 

9. Roy Rogers

Fill a glass with ice. Add 6 ounces of Cola to an ounce of grenadine. Mix well, and decorate the glass with a maraschino cherry. 

10. Sundowners

All you’ll need for this is ½ cup of white grape juice, mint, and a 1/3 cup of tonic water. Add some ice to a wine glass. Add the soda water and grape juice. Mix well and add a sprig of mint as your garnish. 

11. A Cinderella

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add 2 tablespoons of pineapple juice, lemon juice, and orange juice. Add ¼ cup of ginger beer and a ½ tablespoon of grenadine. Mix well and decorate with orange or pineapple wedges. 

12. Watermelon lemonade

Watermelon lemonade with ice and mint leaves.

Add 8 cups of cut watermelon to 5 cups of water, some ice blocks, 1 cup of lemon juice, and a cup of sugar. You may decorate this with a few watermelon and lemon wedges. 

13. Sweet Adeline

Take a warm jug and place a tablespoon of cinnamon syrup and a ¼ cup of pomegranate juice in there. Add a black tea bag and water to the mixture. Remove the teabag after approximately 2 minutes, and add a cinnamon stick to decorate. 

14. Virgin Miami Vice

Mix 2 tablespoons of coconut cream and pineapple juice in a glass. Add a cup of ice, 3 tablespoons of lime juice and strawberry puree, ½ tablespoon of syrup, and top it off with a tablespoon of half-and-half. Add a refreshing strawberry to adorn. 

15. Pina colada mocktail

This is a beverage the entire family will adore, and it’s perfect for any occasion. Freeze cut up pieces of pineapple, then blend them with coconut milk, lime juice, pineapple juice, and simple syrup. Once blended, you may decorate it with cherries, pineapple wedges, and a tiny umbrella. 

16. Baby Bellini

Meld 3 ounces of sparkling non-alcoholic cider with 2 ounces of peach nectar. Add a peach slice to embellish.

17. Raspberry fizzler

This is ideal as a refreshing drink for the kids. You’ll require 1½ cup of raspberry juice, ½ cup of soda water, and a few scoops of raspberry sherbet. Blend all these ingredients and present! 

18. Mango Julius

Add milk, mango juice, ½ cup of ice, some vanilla ice cream, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and a teaspoon of vanilla essence to a pitcher. Meld, pour into a glass, and serve! 

19. Lime Rickey

Mix 12 ounces of seltzer water, 1 cup of lime juice, and 4 ounces of syrup. Decorate your glass with lime wedges. 

20. Raspberry lemonade slushies

Blend some frozen raspberries, juice from 3 lemons, soda water, ice cubes, and 3 tablespoons of agave nectar. Place in jars, and present to your guests.
