Left to Right: Mark Killick and George O’Brien

As the Instacart community of customers and shoppers across North America continues to grow, so does our team!

We’re excited to welcome customer care veteran Mark Killick and product leader George O’Brien to the Instacart family. Mark joined the team this week as Vice President of Community Operations, based in Instacart’s Atlanta office, and George joined as VP of Shopper Product last week, based at our San Francisco HQ.

Here’s more on the latest additions to Instacart’s growing team:

Furthering our Commitment to Delivering an Exceptional Customer & Shopper Experience: Meet Mark Killick, VP of Community Operations

Mark comes to Instacart from Grubhub, where he was most recently VP of Customer Care. Tapped to lead our growing Atlanta office, he’ll oversee Instacart’s community operations organization, including the Atlanta office as well as our third-party support partners. He’ll be focused on building out our support capabilities to deliver world-class customer and shopper care and scaling the organization to meet the needs of Instacart’s growing community of customers and shoppers.

Mark’s extensive career in customer care — combined with his most recent experience in food delivery at Grubhub — makes him uniquely positioned to lead Instacart’s support organization. As VP of Care for Grubhub, Mark was responsible for delivering unparalleled customer service for 19 million diners and 115,000 restaurants. In his time with the company, he more than doubled both the size and contact capacity of the team. Prior to his four years at GrubHub, Mark led quality and support operations for major multinational corporations including Grainger, Motorola and Siemens.

Reinforcing our Commitment to Improving the Shopper Experience:
Meet George O’Brien, Vice President of Shopper Product

George most recently spent more than five years as Director of Product Management at Dropbox. Here at Instacart, he’ll lead the Shopper Product team with a laser-focus on creating the best possible experience for our shoppers by driving the strategic creation and implementation of new features, tools and resources to make shoppers’ jobs easier.

George has extensive experience leading organizations during periods of hyper-growth. He scaled the product team at Dropbox as it transitioned to a public company, ultimately overseeing product for the company’s core File Sync and Share offering, including Dropbox Business and Enterprise. Prior to joining Dropbox, he led product and operations at coupon and loyalty app startup Endorse.com, where he worked directly with retailers and brands in the grocery space across the U.S.

Welcome to the team, Mark & George!
